Kwiziq update:
B1 completed to 90% took 24 hrs over 27 days.
44 days of my 3 month subscription left.
Screenshot_20200414-141228_Chrome.jpg
Overall target of completing B1 before the end of my subscription now smashed :D

Better keep going I guess....

Aw thanks

I am kinda dreading B2 because B1 was difficult but I've made it this far, so I will keep going. I shall treat anything I manage beyond this point as a bonus.

Today's musings...

1. Kwiziq B2 is hard....I need some sort of extra practice for the subjunctive. Grammar book/course. Any ideas?

2. And then...what should I do next? A second Super challenge, more Kwiziq, something else. Again any ideas?

I think quiziq and a super challenge will be a very good combination. You will notice more details in what you are reading/hearing if you do grammar study on the side, and you will see more examples of what you have learned. They will therefore mutually strengthen each other.

You're right it probably will be a good combination. I hope so. Luckily my Kwiziq subscription will overlap the beginning of the SC by a few weeks so I can decide if it's worth renewing after I've started reading again.

I'm glad the SC doesn't run back to back because the break from reading has been good (and was definitely required by the SC end) but now I actually feel ready to start back at it.

I tentatively started watching Money Heist in Spanish with subs again this week, mainly because I'd run out of English stuff to watch

It was almost exactly 1 year ago in March 2019 that I tried watching Money Heist last time and it was too much (too fast & each episode was way too long) for me. So far this time it seems OK. I'm following the general storyline but still missing bits here & there, and some details. The main difference from a year ago is I don't seem to have to concentrate quite so hard... so the long episodes don't seem to be such a major issue this time.

I wonder how my Spanish will be after this SC or even if I can manage to finish another one :?

You'll make it, I promise. I've done two SCs in French now. The first time, I reached around 90-95 books, and the second time, I read about twice as much. Not only did I read faster, I also read with more ease, and would find myself reading French to relax. Just like you said about the listening. It will get better and more enjoyable every time, and the good thing about the long duration is that it's impossible not to notice improvement from one challenge to the next.

So I've been upsetting the Super Challenge applecart it seems

It's a film/book challenge that I want to be a reading/listening challenge but it's not.

Unless Christina herself allows it to change, it's never gonna happen and it shouldn't. I can't really see how anyone can really ask to change the rules on someone's personal challenge that we have been invited to join because we don't like the rules. And it was totally unreasonable of me to do it.

Maybe I was hoping the SC had evolved into a Challenge in it's own right but it hasn't. I think that was my original mistake, I had assumed this incorrectly.

It's unfortunate (for me) but that's just how it is.

I think I may have to withdraw from the SC and maybe just start my own reading/listening challenge instead, which is a shame

This will be the first SC I take part in and until this point I think I've watched about 3 films in Spanish in my life. I, like you mainly listen to podcasts and audiobooks and watch Youtube/Netflix for my input but have decided not to count these towards the challenge and am going to use it as opportunity to start to watch and learn about Spanish/Latin American cinema, perhaps you could look at it like that?

Alternatively set your own challenge and forget about the SC, life is too short and there's no point embarking on a 20 month slog if you don't think you'll enjoy it!

My advice: forget about the SC discussion thread, and log whatever you want. And remember that it's just one person arguing against you in there, while the originator of the challenge hasn't been around since the challenge started four years ago. Personally, I mainly watch movies when I can find one at the cinema, because it's just too difficult for me to sit down in front of the TV at home, so I've been ignoring the "intention" of the challenge for years and mostly been logging audio books, series, and news. I also think that it's perfectly reasonable for people to treat the same challenge in different ways. It's always like that, simply because we are all different people.
