I have been horrifically busy the past few weeks so my Greek has taken a step back :( My Greece trip is in a month though, so I can work more on it there!

On the bright side, looking at Greek Airbnb listings I am able to understand some descriptions. I truly think this language is simple for me to learn, I just need to fix up my schedule as it's a rocky time for me right now. I'll sign up for some iTalki lessons too in the future.

Haven't updated in so long! I'm still keeping up with Greek, though the past few months it's been very light. Recently I've revved study up a bit. My main resource is Language Transfer, I'm really enjoying listening to a couple episodes while walking in the morning. I also do some Memrise a few times a day. Can't wait to have some substantial progress to post about haha.

I went to Athens in October and had a great time. Already planning to spend my entire summer in Greece!

I'm nearly at the halfway point for Language Transfer. Finally starting to understand the endless η/την/τον/τη/etc articles! It's cool that it's already covering cases. I never thought an audio course would work for me but this really is amazing. I wish there were LT courses for some of the other languages I'm learning!

I also started reading Λυδία: Ένα καλοκαίρι στην Ελλάδα! (Lydia: A Summer in Greece), an easy-reader. I'm actually finding it pretty simple to understand. Simpler than the Deltos.gr books. I recommend it for anyone still at the A1 level.

Aside from that I'm watching some Greek YouTubers like Konilo who subs some of his videos and is really funny. I've had a couple podcast recommendations that seem super interesting but I just can't understand anything yet!

Discovered this guy Fred Grün, who learned fluent Greek and became viral in Greece. I have to say, his Greek accent is amazing. The Greeks in the comments are absolutely losing it at what he's done lol.

Started watching Μπρούσκο/Brousko, a Greek soap opera lol. I couldn't find it with English subs, even with Greek subs, so I'm watching it with Bulgarian dubs. We Bulgarians dub everything lol. After, I'll watch it in Greek. If anyone knows how to find it with Greek or English subs, let me know.

I am starting to understand some sentences from songs and TV shows, but it was a slap in the face initially when I put a movie on and couldn't understand anything.

Now 2/3 done with Language Transfer! I also remembered that I bought a comic book from Greece! It's really beautiful

Finished reading the Λυδία easy reader! My first book in Greek! I found it quite easy towards the end and barely looked up anything. It had the different tenses too, and I understood the audio well so I'm happy. I would highly recommend the book to everyone!

Now I'm off to start the Deltos books!

Finished my second Greek book - the first Deltos book. It went super well, right now I'm just reading it with Google Translate at hand and noting down unknown words. There are some paragraphs I can read without looking anything up. I know it's just an easy reader, but it's motivating!

What will I do once I finish Language Transfer Greek? I'll have an empty slot during my morning walk, and I'm not advanced enough yet to listen to podcasts. Maybe I'll start another LT course? :D It's a slippery slope... soon I'll be trying to balance all LT's languages.

Though if I do start something new, it'll probably be Italian

Funny how I'm at lesson 90-something and it was just now in Language Transfer that the genitive was introduced. I think we've covered all cases! Now it's just remaining structure and tenses. Man, this course gets through so much for what feels like so little.

I've stopped taking notes completely when reading Greek books, I just use Google Translate to find unknown words but never note them down. I never go back to notes anyway. I think I might start keeping a Greek journal so my notebooks don't sit unused.

Italian is looking very appealing right now, especially because there's an LT course!

Reached 100 LT lessons!

Also, a non-Greek update. I binge-watched the Spanish show Elite on Netflix this weekend, and felt bad that I've just been letting my Spanish deteriorate when I'm so close to fluency. So, I found the first Harry Potter book in Spanish and will be ready a chapter or so every night. It's very simple and the main goal is to get back to where I was before, then gradually get fluent. I understand 90% so this won't be too hard I hope. I might also do some iTalki here and there.

I also got that book in Greek, Russian and Italian. Surprisingly, they're easy to understand too. I think I still need to finish the Deltos books before attempting HP in Greek, though.
