Hi guys, quick question about Duolingo!

I would like to try and use the Russian interface to learn Spanish, while also keeping my current progress (Spanish for English speakers) saved... is this possible? I just want to experiment with learning a third language in both my native (English) language and my second (Russian) language.

Thanks, sorry if this is asked somewhere else!

EDIT: turns out you can do this! I’m now studying Spanish as an english speaker AND a Russian speaker. Super awesome way to continue learning spanish while also brushing up my Russian

Hi all,

A few updates over the last couple days:

Русский - я рад, что я решил изучать испанский язык как говорящий по-русски человек! Фундаменты мои продолжают улучшить каждый день благодаря этому. Я прочитал новую статью по выборам президента в Литве и много узнал о трёх самых популярных кандидатах. Не знал, что нормально в Литве беспартийный кандидат президента. После каждой статьи моё понимание без словаря улучшается - на пример, я понял почти всю статью по выборам в Литве без словаря - отлично!!!

Spanish - I’ve achieved level 5 in 7 categories as a “Russian-speaker” learning Spanish. As I wrote above, I can’t state enough how glad I am that I made the change. I’m also on a 10 day streak (would’ve been larger, but I forgot one day how much xp I needed, and I was rather busy). I still continue to review my SfR chapters, but I’ll likely not get around to chapter 5 until next week (maybe tomorrow, who knows). I’m blazing through Memrise each time I log on, ensuring I review all necessary words from previous times before learning new ones. I’m probably 20% ish done with Spanish 1 (Mexico), which is exciting. I’ll be doing another CoffeeBreakSpanish episode today.

Have a great weekend everyone - хороших выходных!

Hi everyone,

Just a quick update - I’m going to be doing some very lazy studying of Polish as well. I’ve always had an affinity towards Slavic Languages ever since studying Russian in college, and I even took a little bit of Polish there, too. I really just want to experience it again and I’ll just be doing some Duolingo as well as using my old textbook (which is slated at the A1 level). My priorities still remain with improving my Russian and learning Spanish, but this’ll give me something really fun to play with and explore on the side, if you will.
