Happy National Day everybody

So today is national day in Singapore, which means I also get a holiday tomorrow. Anyway, let's get on with the report.

So I had a 5 day MC this week as I had COVID 19 symptoms, but don't worry, I tested negative. Anyway, this gave me lots of free time to work on my languages. Mostly, I have been doing Lingq for Malay, and for Chinese, I have been doing some Lingq, but I am also watching some beginners' story series on YouTube.

Also, I have decided to reserve Saturdays for any other languages that I want. This week, I used it to go back to French, and God was it so great to be back in French. It has a beauty and exotic feel that Malay and Chinese don't have for me.

I have also made a decision. After the end of this year, I will end my study of Mandarin Chinese as I have started to feel frustrated.

Hey there, so it's been a while since I last posted. So, the thing is, I've been quite busy, and my old earphones (I believe earphones to be the most valuable tool in language learning) broke. But I have new earphones now, and I am working on balancing all my competing priorities. However, I'm still continuing on the path, working through the beginner's matirial on Lingq and now using drops to memorise basic characters and vocabulary.

Also, I have started to seek out more speaking opportunities, which has lead to me speaking the most Malay I have in a while (opportunities for Chinese aren't as abundant ironically).

I just found out Mediacorpdrama has uploaded part of their collection on YouTube, and I thought of you. I think your AJATT-esque approach for Malay might works with their dramas as they uploaded them with soft Closed Captions for both Malay and English. I love P. Ramlee too, but I think you might be interested in a more modern material.
