I'm done for this year.
I reached the full challenge in Swedish and a half challenge in English. For the half challenge in Danish I only completed the film part, the books make me fall back to an unofficial quarter challenge. I just didn't find enough compelling books in Danish and I just cannot read trivialities for an extended time.

Dialang test results (out of 1000):
NO: 851
SV: 829
DA: 630

(mid-2014 it was about 750/750/550 - funny how Norwegian improved the most even though it got least attention)

All three would be in the 5th (out of 6) level (600-900 points), Norwegian and Swedish at the top end, Danish at the bottom.

Currently watching Lillehammer season 3 on Netflix, with fixed English subtitles unfortunately. In episode 4, when Jan is released from jail, he says to his therapist:
"Jeg vil ikke til å legge skjult på at det har gått en viss mengde tørkerull her inne."
And the subtitles:
"We inmates don't adapt too well to normal life."

WTF? The joke gets completely lost and his laughter makes no sense if you only read the subtitles.

Blod kan ein lite på.

Song for Eirabu starts very slow paced and it takes some time to get used to Kristine Tofte's use of language. After about half of the first book it starts to get interesting and the pace slowly increases. By the end of book one it turns out to be a very compelling read and stays so throughout book two. Unfortunately (the ebook version of) book two would need some more editing. Typos, missing words, sudden use of italics midsentence which remains until the end of the chapter.

Still excited to read, despite the need for editing. Hopefully this will get mentioned to the author and fixed by the time I get round to it :)

I'm personally a massive fan of Cirkeln (and am currently reading my way through Eld, although it takes a back seat to Odinsbarn). It's a very different type of book to Odinsbarn, with a magic system that is much more clearly cut out - at least, from my limited perspective. I will now shamelessly plug the review I posted to my blog of the book:

Shameless plug.

I also like John Ajvide Lindqvist. I know you're not asking for recommendations, but I would recommend Låt de gamla drömmarna dö, if you haven't read it alredy. I read it in English, but I like his writing style so I feel happy recommending it as a Swedish read. It's a collection of short stories, two of which give follow ups to two of his novels (Låt den rätta komma in and Människohamn, I believe).
