The Saturday concert featured old and contemporary vocal music performed by Botkyrka Kammarkör.

The late afternoon/early evening was spent playing fiddle.

DE: More Librivox. I'm reading Glennkill: Ein Schafskrimi by Leonie Swann.

FR: More Duolingo. I watched a documentary which happened to be in French, Deep Time: Utmost Experience Beyond Time.

I'm curious about this. OK, both languages are written using Cyrillic letters (with some differences), but wouldn't it be more simple to use a translation program?

The best search result for the first ISBN was a Bulgarian library entry. For the remaining ones, the best resource was a Ukrainian library. Of course I let GT verify/validate my assumptions, but I still had to copy some Cyrillic text blocks (such as proper names of people and places). And it was faster this way than typing in a semi-alien Cyrillic alphabet.

No game night this week. Not even a Saturday concert. However: fiddle practice. Up Donegal!

DE: More Librivox. More Glennkill.

Thanks, Dave! I don't have access to BBC, but I might take a look at the Gutenberg files!

2024 - Summary of week 41

Reading. Four books finished, including two sequels: Lokattens klor (by Karin Smirnoff) - the eight volume in the Millenium ... franchise (?); Rósa & Björk (by Satu Rämö) - the second volume in the Hildur series. Reykjavik noir!

No game night this week. No fiddle practice either. And no concert.

So, the Nobel Prize in Literature has been awarded to Han Kang. I haven't read a single line of her works, but remember having seen copies of Vegetarianen (the Swedish translation of 채식주의자 (EN: ”The vegetarian”)).

DE: More Librivox. I'm not sure if I've mentioned it before, but I'm watching a series called Sisi, which is about Empress Elisabeth of Austria/Bavaria/Austria-Hungary ... Most of the dialogue is in German, then some phrases in French and Hungarian.

FR: More Duolingo.
