I don't know if you want corrections or not? But assuming you do your sentence should be:

Today I finished the book River Town, which is a book about China.

Here is my review of River Town.

As a Chinese reader, finishing this book left me with a profound sense of resonance.

Peter Hessler was sent to Fuling, a remote countryside town of China, to teach English at a college. During his time there, he fully immersed himself in the life of Fuling and observed everything around him with a keen eye. Having grown up in a city, many of the scenes he described were unfamiliar to me, though they echoed stories I have heard from my parents and grandparents. I was astonished by how accurately Peter captured the essence of the these experiences, matching the accounts I’ve been told.

Although the book touches on sensitive historical and political topics, he navigates these complexities with remarkable skill.

China has rapidly developed over past thirty years. The changes are evident everywhere, with people becoming more educated and open-minded, and cities undergoing significant transformation.

How did this book catch my attention? After the shooting incident involving Donald Trump, which led to a surge in support for him, J.D. Vance was nominated as Vice President. This event caused J.D. Vance’s story to gain widespread attention on Chinese social media.

Driven by my curiosity about America, I decided to read “Hillbilly Elegy”, which offered my valuable insights into the social climate of the United States. Despite the challenges posed by the his difficult upbringing, J.D. Vance managed to rise above his circumstance and achieve success.

After finishing the book, I read the reviews on Goodreads. Readers from different cultures and political backgrounds had contrasting opinions. Some gave it five stars, expressing admiration for Vance and even supporting his vices-presidential nomination. Others, however, criticized the people of Middletown, attributing their poverty to laziness, without understanding the complexity of their situation. It’s important to withhold judgement when we haven’t lived someone else’s experiences.

In early August, I finished reading “River Town”. Both books share similarities in depicting poverty-stricken areas and limited opportunities for financial security. Every country faces its own developmental challenges; there is no perfect notion or political system. What we should strive for is to do our best and continue moving forward.

Films: [Stephen Curry: Underrated] https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/stephen_curry_underrated

Last weekend, I watched the documentary about Stephen Curry. Actually, I'm not a true fan, but his achievements have earned my respect. Here are my review.

After watching this documentary, I have deep admiration for Stephen Curry.

The storyline primarily focuses on Curry’s journey from middle school to college. Despite lacking physical advantages in competitions. With the support of his father, he remained dedicated to practicing his three-point shot.

While we are all familiar with Curry’s achievement in the NBA, few of us know the struggles he endured before entering the league. This documentary offers a valuable perspective on Curry, who was often underrated when he first started playing basketball.

During the men’s basketball games at the Pairs 2024 Olympics, we witnessed some incredible performances by Curry. Notably, in the final game, Curry made four consecutive three-pointers, securing a victory for the United Stated team.
