2023 - Summary of week 16

Reading. I finished Tid för barmhärtighet, started I lagens skugga (the 7th book in David Baldacci's series about Amos Decker), and then Undsättningen by Caroline Grimwalker (the 2nd book in the Trickster series). I finished the 7th season of Shetland, then watched a couple more episodes of Foyle's War. More Donegal tunes. On one of my walks I did some self-talk in German (who knows what got me into that ).

I liked her from the start. Definitely one of my favourite characters in the series (although perhaps a bit jolly while she's on duty). Delightful? Mayhaps.

2023 - Summary of week 17

Reading. Nothing finished this week. I started watching the Finnish drama series Norra distriktet (FI: Pohjoisen tähti) about the police officer Maria Pudas, her family, and her career as a boxer (←previous world champion). Just three episodes left of Foyle's War. Due to external factors I had to cancel a few things.

2023 - Summary of week 18

The week started with the (now) sextet meeting for a game of Mansions of Madness. This time, the scenario was a bit too long (actually, it took us several hours more than than the expected duration of 4-5 hours).

No books finished this week either. I finished the series Norra distriktet. At work I had a very brief exchange in Tarzan-Dutch (I even picked up new vocabulary). The weekend was filled with chess and top secret martial arts routines.

2023 - Summary of week 19

Reading. One of the books finished was Bytet (by Stefan Ahnem), a stand-alone thriller without any connection to his series about Fabian Risk. No games (other than chess during lunch breaks at work - win rate 6/10, possibly 7/10), no music (other than my wild exercises in twelve keys).

At work, one conversation lead to another, and suddenly I played some news from Nuntii Latini for some hilarious examples of how one's native language can affect the target language.

2023 - Summary of week 20

Reading. I finished a few, and have a huge pile of books yet to be read. Another week without games or music,

ES: More Librivox. For many days I browsed the Spanish language shelves in the library trying to find something to read. Maybe next week (=tomorrow).

MUL: Work related info - I'm part of a national network translating the new releases of a certain Integrated Library System. Feature releases are made every six months. It's both fun and challenging. Often, we have to decide on terms for functions we aren't yet using. The default language is English and we translate into Swedish. Sometimes one has to cross-check other language versions, usually German or Spanish.

2023 - Summary of week 21

Reading. I finished a few books, including Den tysta fågeln - the third book in a series by the duo Peter Mohlin / Peter Nyström. We meet the undercover FBI agent John Adderley who has moved back to Sweden and now lives in witness protection.

ES: More Librivox. I also started reading El Hobbit. It'll work fine.

2023 - Summary of week 22

Reading. Nothing finished this week. No games (other than chess). No music. I watched a few films from South Korea.

ES: More Librivox. More El Hobbit. I don't look anything up. As is often the case with Tolkien content, I'm inspired to study... other languages. One day.
