Harald Schmidt is a German TV entertainer, comedian and stage actor who was able to eliminate his Swabian accent completely. There is one show that stands out: he chose to do it in his faulty French.
What is interesting is that his Swabian comes through again.

Schmidt's French accent is acceptable to and understandable by my (low intermediate) ears. What strikes me most is how much like an American late night talk show this is. The humor, the approach, the band could be from name-your-favorite-late-night-show. How many non-American late-night talk shows are like this?
Also, how many hosts have ever dared to air an episode in an L2?
Thanks for posting this.
