I love this forum, specifically reading the language logs and following members' experiments. In general, it's wonderful to watch people succeed (or just have a good try) in this field. There is something so motivating about watching those polyglot youtubers rhyme off a few paragraphs in 12 languages - and yet, most of them have nothing on the effort and expertise of some members here.
I posted elsewhere about some of the difficulties which I'm having in my personal life, and therefore, my language learning. It seems that a helpful thing would be to delve into the nitty gritty of an 'exciting' study story. Basically, if it's allowed here, I'd love for people to post links to their favourite language learning journeys - from logs on this forum, or the old forum, or blogs/authors/etc from elsewhere. Anything where someone did something impressive, interesting, experimental, under time pressure, or just has a wonderfully infectious passion for learning, would be appreciated. The more detail, the better.
I hope to get some responses to this which can spread a little bit of inspiration around to those in need!

You can have a look at EMK's fight for French fluency and his "Cheat and Consolidate" method.

Iguanamon's log is incredibly inspiring to me: https://forum.language-learners.org/vie ... f=15&t=797
When I was a kid, I found Barry Farber's How to Learn Any Language: Quickly, Easily, Inexpensively, Enjoyably, and On Your Own in a bargain bin. I read it so many times that I still have some sections memorized.... I haven't necessarily followed all of his advice, but I loved reading about how he dove into various languages.
