Yes, you only have 2 hours per day for your language related activities. What should you do? Read in French, German, Latin, or Italian. To hell with all that! Let's listen to another 2h talk on language learning! :D

Towards the end we touched a little bit on "walking the walk," specifically regarding one of the first discussion circle participants who commented on Tuesday's video something to the effect that he has been lax in watching & commenting because he's too busy studying!

For me, I listen to the discussion circles on YouTube at 2x speed while going for a walk, which doesn't cut into my study time. Watching the Tuesday lectures though I definitely do cut into it though. Shit happens I guess.

Are you sure? Cool kids listen to podcasts/audiobooks in their target languages while walking! (points at himself)

Great discussion. I like that these are getting longer and longer! I was supposed to be on this session but unfortunately had to pull out as something came up. I think this is my favourite of the discussion circles so far; I especially liked Marcin's comment on the video that the mere mention of Sanskrit and yoga is compelling him to delve into that language... don't I know what that's like! :D

Glad you liked it!

Team Sanskrit grows stronger every day...hopefully one of us actually learns it soon!

The comments on the importance of cultural understanding for language learners who look different than a typical native were interesting. Culture is such a huge field. It would have been nice to hear more about general approaches to it. I'm sure it varies somewhat, depending on the language, but history seems to be a component.

I did a search at https://gloss.dliflc.edu/ and "Culture" is one of the options under "Topic".

Glad I was able to join this discussion to conclude the first series! As you can see, we succeeded in breaking the 2-hour mark by which point the professor's cat was crying out for attention.
