I am under the impression that he generally still is/wants to be in the pre-internet era internally when it comes to language studies and and his methods show it. I mean, graduated readers, audio books... fine, but where is newspaper websites, blogs, podcasts, online dictionaries... so many valuable things that he never wants to mention.

He gives me early 2000s vibes.

To be fair, the one that got away* send to be getting larger with every telling...

(* for the benefit of non-natives, "the one that got away" refers to a fish and the tendency of anglers and fishermen to exaggerate the size by indicating is length by stretching their arms out. Hmm... Fishing is probably so rare now that an entire generation of natives probably don't get it either...!)

Ps. That last video was pretty waffly -- I couldn't see what his point was and left it running while going to the toilet but it never caught my attention again, so I just stopped it.

I think you are right. I never really thought about this watching his videos, but now that you mention it it's really true. I really do like his methods and I think there is something valuable in being able to put the phone down and just sit down with an Assimil books for an hour (or with 20 Assimil books for 10 hours, as in his case :D ), but newer resources seem to be disregarded entirely.

Still enjoying his videos though. I miss his old website as well, I think he took it down a few years ago.
