It seems the expansion of ever new courses at the Academy has hindered his capacity to engage with the general online community. No Q&A updates since June, no new video in close to a month (since the new courses were started).

Not really a complaint, just an observation, and really a congratulations. It seems that his lifelong dream is quite successful.

He's told me on several occasions that he has a huge backlog of Q&A submissions yet to be answered. His two sons have also "fled the nest", so he no longer has the energy and motivation to make videos regularly anymore. Not to say we won't get more of either, but it will probably be more sporadic than what we've been able to enjoy over the last year.

There is apparantly an East Siberian marker in Korean people's DNA, so perhaps the language is related to Finnish? If Indo-European could travel from the Black Sea to India, Korea doesn't seem impossibly far.

No, it's not. What he mentioned there is the altaic hypothesis, which is interesting but not accepted, and Finnish is not a part of that group anyway.
But I've heard before that Finnish shares some grammar features with Japanese, however, they are coincidental.

edit: Ural-Altaic, also a rejected hypothesis.

On Finding Famous Signatures in Old Books:

Duration: 11:24.

(I once bought books in a charity shops that had signatures of a professor of mine at the time. In the mid noughties, I got some books for Russian. I didn't know the signature by then, but a few years later it turned out that a new colleague had the same name, and had studied the language. I brought the books to work: "-Is this your signature?" Of course it was.)
