Hello everyone,
I am a new member from USA, and I intend to learn Spanish, Sanskrit, and hopefully either Hindi or Tamil. I am new to learning new languages and I hope to make new friends with similar interests.

Hi. I'm oho, this year I'm learning Portuguese and German and trying to mantain my level of Dolomitic Ladin and Hebrew. I also have a huge interest in linguistics, my favorite areas being so far morphology, syntax and historical linguistics. I live in Tuscany, near its capital Florence.

Hello everyone! My name is Amy, I am from Slovenia and my mother tongue is Slovenian. I consider myself fluent in English (I've been using English daily for over 20 years now), but I do want to improve my understanding of tenses in the near future. I've been studying German on and off for about 3 years now and I've also been to Germany for a couple of months, which has significantly improved my spoken German. For personal reasons I've also started learning Spanish a couple of months ago (I watched Spanish telenovelas a lot in my teenage years) and am currently juggling between the two (German and Spanish), while "marinating" mandarin Chinese by just casually watching dramas for about an hour a day (I'm experimenting whether or not I'll be able to pick it up or acquire bits of it much like English and Spanish, despite the fact that it's a very different language compared to others I'm familiar with). In the future I do plan on learning even more languages to a decent level as I do enjoy learning them and will keep language learning as a hobby probably until the day I am physically no longer able to.

Good morning! New member Palomalou (sometimes called "Pal" :D ) I am a retired piano professor dreaming of moving to Italy, so working hard during the pandemic to resurrect my Italian. I am B1, perhaps B2 in some areas, but not all! Native language English; I worked for a few years as an opera coach in Germany MANY years ago, so I have retained minimal function in German. I look forward to learning much about language learning from your wise heads!

Hi there! Please call me Z. I speak fluently Polish, German and English. Started to learn Spanish a year ago when I moved to Medellin for a bit. Since then I've been working on an algorithm that enables you to learn any language in any language. (unlike Duolingo, which, for example, only offers English for Polish users :( )

I'll be happy to share the results of my work in the upcoming weeks and at the same time get to know this community better.

Hello everyone! My name is Nina, I'm 18 years old and I'm from Serbia.

My native language is Serbian. I'm learning English (C1) and German (B1) and hopefully, I'll find the courage to start learning French.
Next year I intend to enrol a college for foreign languages, and I hope to study German. In order to do that, I must start learning more seriously and I hope this forum will help me with that in terms of motivation and accountability.

I stumbled upon this forum by accident, but I'm so glad I did. Seems like a really friendly and ambitious place. It's just what I was looking for!
