-You keep hearing nonsense about language learning, and when you give a different answer based on your experience (which the other side usually doesn't have), you are being told your opinion is invalid, as "you are just gifted for languages" :-D

Yes, this was definitely something I didn't think of and a missed opportunity on my part! I will add a version of this formed in the "Can ..." speak.

I'm open to other community suggestions on add/edits!

Reminds me of a line from La Casa de Papel (paraphrased and translated): A good joke has two elements: the truth, and something painful.

But there's no sense crying over every mistake. You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.

emk could easily do it at least, as he has direct access to the forum's database. He could connect to the database and then find the post with the most likes.

Poking around the postlove extension of the forum, I think the exact SQL query to get the post with the maximum number of likes should be:

Code: Select all

SELECT post_id, MAX(counter) FROM (SELECT post_id, COUNT(post_id) AS counter FROM phpbb_posts_likes GROUP BY post_id);

zKing's first post in this thread has the ID number 112270. If the post_id from this SQL query is not 112270, then zKing's post is not the post with the maximum number of likes. I do wonder what the post with the most likes is otherwise...

I could do it too but it'd take me a long time. I estimate it'd take me about 6 days to make the roughly 50000 page requests to the forum's server I'd need to index all 112600+ posts in the forum (going at a rate of 1 request per 10 seconds), whereas emk could find this information in about 2 seconds.

What if you limit your search to rdearman's and emk's posts? Their admin posts tend to get the most likes.

No way do I have as many votes as the OP with this brilliant post! This beats anything I have ever posted here.
