Here is a link to Arguelles's posts:

I too wonder how his work has progressed. He was such an interesting and stimulating personality.

I found a zip file of his threads on my backup drive and I've uploaded to Google Drive.

EDIT: If you're a unix user you'll need to move the "Threads" directory to lowercase "threads" if you want the index page to work.

This reminds me, though. I was talking to one of the more famous polyglots about this celeb thing because some of the big names at these events basically can't attend talks and do things because everyone wants a piece of them. I think part of his absence is that he really doesn't like the spotlight, he seems to be a very shy person with no interest in publicity, only academia. People like Richard Simcott thrive on attention because they're socially genius and can handle people with grace, but for those among them that don't have that skill this attention can be very annoying.

Heck, I get a lot of attention and I wouldn't even call myself a celeb in the polyglot world. I remember I walked into this year's gathering after a flight cancellation and I think everyone wanted a part of me when I came in, I got stopped in my tracks every ten seconds by someone. Now normally I am fine with some attention, I like being social and going out with people. But there's times when it doesn't work, and not even I can handle ten people at the same time. It's no wonder Arguelles went back into the shadows.

Does anyone know if there is a video of the professor's talk at the Reykjavik Polyglot Conference discussed here?:

It looks so interesting. I wonder if the Old Norse literature mentioned by the professor has been properly edited and published and is presently available in print.

Nine talks from Reykjavik have been uploaded, and Arguelles' isn't among them.

I don't mean to rude so please don't take this the wrong way but I think THIS thread might be one of the reasons why he isn't active anywhere anymore. I mean why do you want to know where he is? And why do you make a special thread about it? Then everyone starts scouting the web to find him like the FBI :D ... I mean I wouldn't want that to happen to me. Also, I still see him mentioned quite often on this forum even though I haven't seen him posting anything since...I don't know...2016? I mean I understand he accomplished a lot when it comes to learning languages but I think you should let the guy breathe.
Again, this is not meant to be a negative post, just an observation to be read in a very friendly tone :)

Actually, the original premise of the thread was where are his writings. I misnamed the title, I wasn't interested in the professor himself, but the huge DB of threads which he'd written on HTLAL, which had been posted on the Internet to read. So the thread has gone a bit "Off Piste". Should have called it: "Where are Alexander Arguelles posts ?"

If you cast back to the original post, you'll see I'm not trying to stalk the professor, just track down his written legacy.
