I decided to take the test again in case I was in the wrong mood yesterday (perhaps obsessed by a demon?). I got a few more questions in the image section with animals and some more alternatives in the "mark all correct sentences".

Our top three guesses for your English dialect:

1. English (England)
2. Irish (Republic of)
3. US Black Vernacular / Ebonics

Our top three guesses for your native (first) language:

1. English
2. Dutch
3. German

That's more like it! (I don't know what happened yesterday. :? )

I wonder what the results would be if took the test multiple times (with the same background information, and of course, choosing the same answers). It would be very interesting to know what triggers a certain native language (Norwegian?) or dialect (I only noticed one particularly Irish example, which I chose both times).

Does it get better and better according to the extra information at the end, or does it get worse and worse?

Uhhh.... What? This is really weird!

Our top three guesses for your English dialect:
1. Singaporean
2. US Black Vernacular / Ebonics
3. American (Standard)

Number 3 is the correct one, I guess. Since this test does not measure pronunciation, number 2 doesn't make much sense based on my responses. Any possible traces of Ebonics could only be noticeable when I speak. I also have no idea how the algorithm could have guessed Singaporean as I know nothing about Singaporean English.

Our top three guesses for your native (first) language:
1. Romanian
2. English
3. Russian

I also know almost nothing about how Romanians and Russians would use English after having learned it, so I'm completely confused here. Oh well, at least it was entertaining.

Our top three guesses for your English dialect:
1. South African
2. Singaporean
3. Welsh (UK)

Our top three guesses for your native (first) language:

3. Hungarian

Never lived in South Africa, Singapore or UK (except for a week in London). And only four years in Australia. Now, I must seriously consider learning Romanian and Hungarian. :)

Impressively accurate, as I'm pretty sure that's the actual order of the first three dialects I've had meaningful exposure to.

Our top three guesses for your native (first) language:
1. English
2. Swedish
3. Norwegian

Accurate. I even selected some (to me very American-sounding) answers based on my acceptance of them as grammatical, even though I probably wouldn't say things that way myself. And yet it still knew.

Apparently my English must be a bit weird sounding...

Our top three guesses for your English dialect:
1. US Black Vernacular / Ebonics
2. South African
3. Singaporean

But this other result really intrigues me. My third language is Dutch. My first Italian, my second English. Though, no Italian to be found, but rather...

Our top three guesses for your native (first) language:
1. Dutch
2. English
3. Swedish
