A decent TEFL course

Postby Voytek » Thu Oct 26, 2017 2:28 am

I would like to realize a 200 hours TEFL course but I don't want to spend a fortune for it.

Could you suggest me some decent and not expensive course, please?

I didn't know where to ask this question so I beg your pardon. :)

There are not-expensive TEFL courses?

Honestly, I really don't think there are good options. It also depends what you want it for - some schools will only accept teachers with a CELTA, which tends to be expensive. However, there are companies who offer free part time courses/qualification in exchange for working for them - that might be your best bet.

As MamaPata says, if you don't get a recognised certificate, you might as well not have any certificate.

Most places will be reluctant to take anything other than a CELTA or the Trinity TESOL. This is partly to do with the conditions for British Council accreditation. I've just done a masters in TESOL, and some of my classmates found problems during the job application process because of the lack of an accredited practical component to the course.

So much for the cheap part.

As for the "good" bit... well, neither I nor anyone I know has done two courses, so it's impossible to say what is a good course or not.
