When you were a child did your teacher make you sing and count, clapping every syllable of a word in kindergarten?

Oh yeah! We all sat in a circle and started with the teacher. As we were around the circles we all said everyone's names while clapping out the syllable… I easily lost count of the number of times that the teacher told me that 2 and 3 syllables are not the same. Lol, happy memories! :D

Do you believe that this system is applied in all languages and cultures? :?:

No, but I remember the teacher grabbing me by the hair above my ear to make sure I was paying attention. It worked. I believe a similar system used to be applied across all cultures.

I don’t remember doing it with our names like that, but we did clap for each syllable to count them.

Never did, never heard of such a thing.
