Interviews in two languages with no translation used?

I was looking through podcasts from Portugal's Antena Um and came across this one (a short interview with an author about his book):

As soon as the author started replying in Spanish, I expected a Portuguese interpreter to start speaking over him. I was surprised (and delighted) when he simply continued in Spanish, then the interviewer asked him further questions in Portuguese, and so on.

Anyone else have good examples of this?

Happens a lot in football Spanish-speaking footballers in Portugal never bother to learn Portuguese, but they obviously have no problems giving interviews. If they stay long enough, eventually some Portuguese elements do appear in their speech though.

Czech and Slovak are another good example, although at least some Slovaks switch to Czech if they continue to live in the Czech Republic long enough.

Obviously this kind of thing works best when the languages are similar enough.

Yeah, the Da/No/Sw combo is rarely translated; sports events - never, but a talk show is probably subtitled.

If I'm hearing it correctly Azeri has the sound xʲ, which Turkish lacks. Is that so, Chung?

It's quite common to come across films and TV shows with Czechs and Slovaks speaking their respective language. For example Česko Slovenská Superstar. The judge on the right is speaking Slovak, the woman next to him Czech. The man on the left also Czech. The contestants are a mixture.

I can't find any videos online but all of Marcus Ericssons interviews with Danish TV3Plus would apply. They ask him in English and he replies in Swedish. It's a bit sad considering our long history together but it's in line with recent studies.
