She has some rich and kind of pushy parents, but it adds fuel to the fire of the discussion whether children should be started on languages young.

(My advice - as young as possible, and make it as natural and un-scholastic as possible. Not every child is equally gifted, but they all manage to speak some kind of language - even the ones that didn't do so well at school. It may turn out this girl is crap at maths, for example; who knows?)
