There's no SSL (https) activated for the github, so all pages will give this error:

It's not related to the fact that you haven't created a status page.

GitHub doesn't support SSL for custom domains it seems. Maybe an S3 bucket on another subdomain, status.language-learners.org. And just an index file with some text, and perhaps the Twitter account feed embedded if you go that way.
