Language Proficiency Levels
I have seen people talk about their proficiency 'level' such as B1. Does this refer to a specific language exam? What are the most common language exams? I studied French in school and university for 10 years and would like to know what my proficiency level actually is. Thanks so much!

Re: Language Proficiency Levels
A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2 refer to the "Common European Framework of Reference for Languages" (CEFR in short).
Some members have mentioned the ILR scale (0, 0+, 1, 1+ ....5).

Re: Language Proficiency Levels
For french, the DELF/DALF exams are perhaps the best known, but for immigration/university entrance I believe they promote the TCF.sstrout77 wrote: What are the most common language exams? Re: Language Proficiency Levels
There is a post around here somewhere where I endeavored to have a list and link to every language test available out there. Let me see if I can find it and I'll link to it here.
Edit: Here it is.

You're not a C1 (or B1 or whatever) if you haven't tested.
