Just for fun I've decided to start working through Teach Yourself Beginner's Hindi. Something in chapter one has really stumped me because a translation of मोती is not listed with the other vocabulary words at the end of the chapter. Nor is it in the dictionary at the back.
I looked it up on an online dictionary and it gave me a translation of "bead" or "pearl." But then later on in the chapter I got this sentence:
क्या मोती बिल्लीह है ?
(?) (bead?!) cat is
Is it supposed to be a name? Help!

Re: Hindi translation question
It's the cat's name. That's why it's not listed among the vocabulary.
