Q: French books are rubbish?
A: They will be if you throw them in the rubbish bin.

Q: How do you learn to make sentences from words?
A: You put words together in a string and hey, you have a sentence!

Q: Italian- what's next?
A: Sorry, I am not Italian so I cannot answer that question.

Q: Und was jetzt?
A: Jetzt – Deutsch.

Q: How do you find things to read?
A: I go to my bookshelf, or I turn on my Kindle.

Q: Just how long does, "Later" mean to you?
A: I have to think about that, I’ll let you know later.

Q: How do you find things to read?
A: Try looking through a few nearby rubbish bins. You'll be surprised at all the French books you find.

One need not hope in order to undertake, nor succeed in order to persevere.

Q: What are your techniques when learning new languages?
1. Make a big plan involving graphs and spreadsheets and timescales and multiple textbooks and thousands of Anki cards and a progressing scale of graded readers and listening.
2. Do this for multiple languages, so that if people find out how many scary and impressive languages I am 'learning' they are impressed.
3. Then perhaps consider at some point trying to learn something.

Q: What is the point of mastering/learning so many languages?
A: I need an excuse for why I haven't managed to achieve several other things in life.
