Q. How to freeze a language at a beginner state?
A. You put the beginner course book in the freezer.

Q. How do you know if you understand?
A. Can you rephrase that please, I don’t understand.

Q. Is binge-reading of any value?
A. It is certainly healthier than binge-drinking.

Q. A forum for non-language chatter?
A. Is a forum where you only use emojis. :? ;)

Q. German or Italian?!
A. No, I am neither.

Q. Difference between two Assimil French editions?
A. The year they were published.

Q. Worst part of being dependent on digital tools
A. 2% battery and no charger.

Q. How do you know if you understand?

The neurologic and psychiatric examination is quite a complex issue, I don't dare trying to fit it in a forum post.

Q. German or Italian?!

Good question, looks can be deceiving. If he eats mostly pasta and pizza and drinks only very good coffee, he may be italian. If he invites you to Oktoberfest and will drive you there in a volkswagen, he's probably german.

Q. Worst part of being dependent on digital tools

Having movement restricted by the wifi range.

Q. How to move from B1-B2-C1 in France

A. As implied, this *does* differ by country. In fact it can even differ by city or by suburb. I suggest buying a copy of Locations And World Language Proficiency Transitions. Armed with your longitudinal and latitudinal coordinates, you can use the Index to quickly find which page to reference.

This used to be a great thread back at HTLAL. Now it's almost forgotten.
Maybe rdearman and emk should add a character limit to the thread titles here...
