Q: How have you approached "stretch" literature?
A: I typically throw it on the pile with all the other exercise books, then go eat a cupcake until I've forgotten about it.

Q: How have you approached "stretch" literature?
A: I looked "stretch literature" up on Google and was sent directly back to the thread here where the notion isn't defined. Conclusion: there is no such thing, so I don't have to approach it.

Q: How can I learn a language without staring at a screen all day?
A: You can, just like that. Once you stop staring at a screen all day, you can learn a language. Or accomplish other great feats, for that matter.

Re: The Answers to Discussion Topics
Q: A teaching and learning log
A: I teach myself - and with a bit of luck I also learn something
Q: How do/did you overcome your own sunk cost fallacy in language learning?
A: I just didn't look up what "sunken cost" means
Q: Foreign language learning as a stress therapy
A: If you don't read literature then you avoid reading about a lot of nasty people - that's good for your mental health!
Q: Learning noun gender without articles
A: English and a couple of other languages would look funny without the articles
Q: Dw i'n gwylio Tatort
A: why learn Welsh (or whatever it is) if you actually are more interested in ancient German police series - drop Welsh and learn German instead
Q: If you can't speak Latin in Rome...
A: Then try Italian
Q: How do you pace yourself when using a course/lesson book?
A: I tell myself that that I get through the book faster if I skip all the exercises and all the 'funny' games and avoid listening to the cassettes or CDs or whatever the set comprises. That way a typical TY or similar course can be done in a couple of days. Rosetta stone is even faster: I can spot that yellow color from afar, and then it is all over in about 1 second.

Re: The Answers to Discussion Topics
Q: Is it good to read and listen at the same time?
A: Absolutely. It can save you a lot of time, which is so valuable in our modern world. And to save even more time, you can try to speak and write while you read and listen.

Re: The Answers to Discussion Topics
Q: How many novels/books should one do L[listening]-R[reading] before "speaking" will "surprise" me automatically?
A: Pretty much the same amount of hours of watching “how to get ripped” YouTube videos before your six-pack will suddenly surprise you one morning.
