Infinitives aren't necessary - just ask the Modern Greeks and the Bulgarians. As for the Ghoti fish it could be a Babelfish - they are somewhat shifty and hard to pronounce.

A: You could also try to learn Afrikaans without going to prison

Cainntear wrote:...wouldn't that be a bathroom door...?

Only in a luxury resort prison.

Q: We haven't got up to 'yes" yet!
A: We got stuck at 'no'

Q: DeepL kicked me today
A: Ouch

Q: Modern Greek: avalon
A: Avalon isn't in my Greek dictionary. Actually Avalon isn't anywhere because it's a fable.

Q: How do I make my own anki decks for Hebrew?
A: .thgir eht morf tratS

Q: Do certain languages just jive with you ?
A: No. They're more likely to waltz, tango or salsa.

Q: What techniques do you use to improve TL pronunciation / accent?
A: Singing.

Q: What is your preferred novel-reading medium?
A: None.

Q: I want to build an app. What do you think?
A: Building an app may be easier or harder than building a house. It depends on your 1337 c0d1ng sk1ll5 or the absence of them, and on ... some other parameters.

Q: What did you suddenly realize you'd been pronouncing wrong?
A: Deutsch! Because of a slip of the tongue several times. #MutterspracheRustiness

Q: Why aren't you learning our language?
A: Because I am learning our language instead of our language!! [We have got more than one in common.]

Q: Wiki Administrators?
A: Admins of Jimbo Wales's [apostrophe spelling??] Wikipedia? Some call them dictators. Some don't.

Q: Should I keep in contact or take a break?
A: I don't know. Because I don't know with whom you are in contact.

Q: Why is Italian more popular than Portuguese?
A: Because Pizza. Because Pasta.

Q: Don't know what to call this thread...highly specific and unhelpful sentences?
A: You could call it nobody instead. #ConfusingTheOneEyedCyclops

Q: I want to build an app, what do you think?

A: Cur non?

Q: Language learning games?
A: I was unaware games had developed the requisite intelligence to learn languages.

Q: The answers to discussion topics?
A: Why do we have any other thread on this forum, if the answers are all here? And why not just answer in the relevant topic?

Q: Switching default language with family member?
A: It should be under "Language settings" in "General" in the options menu. You might have to scroll down a bit more or less depending on your particular model, however.

EDIT: I think I had too much fun with this.
