For me it would be anything designated as Repubblica Italiana. That would require another lifetime.

Re: Which languages would you learn...
I could spend the rest of my life in Iberia learning languages. but I choose to live vicariously through Nooj, :
Aranés
Aragonés
Asturleonés (includes Asturiano and Leonés)
Basque
Caló
Extremaduran
Fala
Galician
Llanito
Minderico
Mirandés
While it's easy to say that Spanish is dominant in Spain and Portuguese in Portugal, an amazing linguistic diversity is still managing to hold on. Of course, There's some duplication here. With Spanish, Portuguese, Catalan, and Djudeo-espanyol/Ladino at my disposal, not so tough of a job... still, getting them all right is tough. When I was in Galicia, I had no problem speaking my Brazilian Portuguese there and understanding responses with some reference to Spanish. Galician is a language in its own right even if I can manage with my linguistic background. Basque, is a completely different kettle of fish! My hat is off to Nooj!

None, nada, rein, niente, nessuno, zip, zilch, zero, 없음 .
Learning human languages is difficult, frustrating and strenuous. If I had time, money, and no business need I might learn a number of languages, but they aren't on that list. They are on this one.

Re: Which languages would you learn...
I've already made lists of languages I would love to learn. Wouldn't really change any just because there's a list of languages and the country/location they're spoken in.

Why? Do you enjoy computer programming, or is it for economic gain? Learning computer languages is difficult, frustrating and strenuous. I'm sticking with human readable languages.

Re: Which languages would you learn...
I'd like to have a new language project this year. I find that as I get older I become less interested in learning new languages, and more interested in improving those that I know.
Here are some projects that I contemplate.
- Improve my Dutch, which I haven't worked on for more than 20 years.
- Improve my German - German is now my best language after English, and I'm pretty functional in the language but could definitely improve.
- Improve my Japanese, which hasn't really taken off yet.
Learn a new language. I might be interested in these:
- I'd like to learn Italian - it seems easy since I know Spanish.
- Finnish would be cool to know a little bit of. Finland is after all a neighbouring country of Norway.
- Learn a South-Asian language. Like Vietnamese, Philippine, Malay, or Thai? But I know how much work that would be.
What would you suggest? I'm leaning towards Dutch.
