I did a similar thing, but I just printed it all and then used a hole punch to fit it into one big folder.

Spiral bound! The black plastic thingy. Not bound like a book!

I’m currently printing individual chapters of Le Français Par La Méthode Nature at home and putting them in a binder as I go.

Is that 'dropped'? Blimey, who was their target market before the discount? I mean I could buy one, but perhaps a lot of younger learners would never have the money for something like that. You'd have to deliver a lot of papers.

Addressing language exchange: Hellotalk and Tandem allow you to search for speakers in your city (tho this is a paid feature on Tandem)

ConversationExchange.com does that too.

An evening-class in the target language would be another non-screen activity.

The struggle is real. Even paper textbooks typically require some computer time to access online audio. But I do enjoy lots of podcasts created for language learners, and I listen to Pimsleur lessons while driving.

Which is why I buy my Assimils with CD's. It's (still) possible to learn a language without using a computer/tablet/smartphone. Oldfashioned, but doable.

As mentioned above: try podcasts. Go and sit under a tree, stare into the distance and use your ears.

OK, you'll probably need to look at a screen to start and stop it (who has a dedicated MP3 player these days?) but for the most part, you won't need to look at a screen much.

I do! One of those with no display so that the battery goes for 6-7 hours on a single charge.

Me too, I can listen to podcasts while I'm trying to fall asleep.

I had been using my Sony since 2012, until Covid when I stopped because I couldn’t disinfect it easily, and the battery died  (I also stopped carrying paper books with me).
