If you read books in at least one of the continental Scandinavian languages, how do you generally read books originally written in the other ones?

Other, i.e. sometimes original, sometimes a translation. Of the Danish/Norwegian authors I've read the last ten years, most (if not all) of them have written crime fiction. That is a popular genre and a lot is translated into Swedish. It's not that I actively look for native content, nor that I actively avoid it. If the book I've decided to read happens to be written by a Danish/Norwegian author and it's a translation into Swedish, fine.

Same as Jeff: Sometimes in the original and sometimes in translation. I think most people would prefer to read it in translation though.

I prefer reading Norwegian and Danish (as well as all other languages which I can read) fiction in the original.
Most of my Swedish friends and colleagues are surprised when they see me reading in Norwegian or Danish though. They usually tell me they never would do that, even those of them who wouldn't hesitate to grab an English book.
