B2 DELF

Postby kimmitt » Sat Jan 30, 2021 8:06 pm

Hi all

I wanted to get some advice advice about the DELF B2. I’ve finished Assimil New French with Ease, am half way through the FSI course and read some novels.

I’m working with an italki tutor who knows the DELF well and he thinks I can pass the B2 exam. But I’m worried that I still make too many errors when speaking and struggle with consistently using the subjunctive.

The exam is in two months - am I being too ambitious?

No one here is going to know your abilities better than the tutor you are working with. Is there some reason you don't trust this tutor's assessment? If not, then don't overthink this and, for the cosmos' sake, don't subject yourself to the opinions of random people on the internet. I say this as a teacher and former test skills tutor.

You will be nervous, so just ask your tutor to help you prepare some strategies for taking the test. Or google it. You should be able to find example questions online to gives yourself an idea of what the test will be like.

Note from an educator and former ESL/test skills tutor: Any learner, including self-learners, can use the CEFR for self-assessment. The CEFR is for helping learners progress and not for gatekeeping and bullying.
