How are you finding it? (Please be as negative as possible, my finger is already hovering over the 'buy now' button and I really don't need another hobby right now...)

If I had a notebook like Oho's from the preceding page I would be loath to soil it with my ugly scribblings. That's why I use white paper which can be bought cheaply in packets with 500 sheets and thrown away after use.

I've found that my Arabic handwriting looks much nicer if I use a stub nib and hold it so the narrowest lines are vertical (there's probably a word for that...), instead of at an angle as I normally would. Do you know if this is a thing with Arabic?

Oh, and by the way, in your photo from Jan 9th - is that a Pilot Falcon by any chance?

Good eye! It was a Namiki Falcon at the time that I got it, I'm not exactly sure when they rebranded it to Pilot Falcon.

Hebrew and Arabic calligraphy are traditionally written with reed pen with a wide vertical edge. There are also fountain pens with a wide vertical edge, I think it's called an Arabic nib, Hebrew nib, or architect nib. But holding a stub sideways should do the trick too.

Languages: I can read and write French, but my spoken capabilities are limited. I'm looking to develop further, especially in a business sense, as I'm getting increasingly asked if I would be able to use French at work.

Just do it :-)

I’d love to be able to give you the negative critique you’re seeking, but I can’t really opine either way. Other than a few shopping lists and a bit of doodling, I’ve not had much chance to use it, what with a full-time job, home-schooling, general “stuff” taking over.

I do not have any fancy notebooks, but notebooks are a central tool for my language learning. My preferred notebook is Moleskine's extra large cahier. Some things I like about it:

-It is moderately priced, around $5 USD each.
-It has a soft cover, and the pages stay open. Notebooks with hardback covers tend to close shut.
-It is large enough to use productively. Small notebooks are easier to carry around, but are difficult to write in.
-It does not have a metal spiral that obstructs the hand.

Here, I use the notebook to keep track of Korean words, but I usually write down sentences rather than individual words. I also work in reviews of words and phrases I've forgotten into the notebook.
