...when you're at work (the library) and start a conversation in Portuguese, notice that the person (despite the native language) is reading Spanish to a child, you continue in English and finally end the two-minute exchange in Swedish - and still feel somewhat happy although the Portuguese constisted of just a greeting and a short response. Even Tarzan speech is productive language.

When your daughter pays you a visit to sing to you in French, but can't start, because you insist on singing to her in Italian.

That's possibly more being an overbearing parent... have you considered instead showing pride in someone who's trying to make you proud...?

Don't worry - it didn't last more than five minutes, and then she did her stuff. And then she watched me post it, and we laughed together for at least ten more minutes.

When you have memorized multiple Disney songs in different languages. (even if you don't actually speak all of those languages)

Sorry if this has already been mentioned somewhere in the last 77 pages by the way.

When you need to find an image, you go to Google-images and do the search in different languages because you know that way you'll get more different images to choose from.

When you are trying to write something with your PC's keyboard and it doesn't work as you expected. Then you remember that you have the IME (input method editor) set for a different language, so you need to change it to the language you are trying to write in.

And when the above happens many times a week or even many times a day.

When it's such a natural part of your life that it happens when you respond to this post :D

Also, this regularly happens to most (if not all) of those whose native language doesn't use the Latin alphabet, including those who aren't language nerds at all :D

When you're hesitant to post this because you don't want to be the party-pooper :D

I had to bite my fingers to resist the urge to respond to AndyMeg's post. Hongkonger me writes in half-Chinese-half-English so I switch keyboards multiple times within a sentence. I have a strong habit of switching the keyboard back to English everytime I pause or switch activities, but I also have a strong habit of daydreaming.
