Kyrgyz picking up the votes. How come you have a head start?

When I lived there I studied it with a tutor (co-author of the only complete Kyrgyz-English dictionary!) for a year. Didn't get far, maybe low A2, but used the language in the markets and it tickled the vegetable/fruit ladies to hear a Westerner trying their language. It was fun.

I would say Turkish because two of your top four are Turkic, and Turkish will have much better resources and more accessible media than Kyrgyz. Later on if you want to learn Kyrgyz as well, a foundation in Turkish will surely help you a lot.

Recall that Olekander is in Moscow, where there are plenty of Russian-language resources for Kyrgyz. But, I agree with Turkish as far as English-language resources are considered. Also, knowing Turkish opens up those other Turkic languages. I'd use my limited/crappy Kyrgyz with the Turkish attache in Bishkek and he understood me just fine.

Of the ones you listed, I’d vote for Turkish because my boyfriend speaks Turkish and he’s always sitting on my couch watching Turkish plays and series on YouTube on his phone and laughing so hard he almost falls off the sofa, so it seems like a language that would be fun to know.

We're going with Turkish : )!
May start a new progress thread may not. Might keep the old one even though it's named Russian / Catalan.

First time I've attempted to learn a language from A0 since university about ten years ago with Russian, so here we go !

Hi, friend! I sincerely invite you to enjoy Chinese this beautiful language with me! Chinese characters evolved from pictures, which have both ideographic and phonetic functions, making them different from many national characters. Therefore, the concise, vivid and accurate expressions of Chinese characters make others incomparable.
Someone might say Chinese is difficult to learn but it worth learning. Imagine that, you could taste a more authentic Chinese life if you chat in Chinese. Besides, I promise it will be a completely different experience to read Chinese poems and martial arts fictions in original language compared to the translations.
I am sure you will find the glamour of Chinese. Feeling curious? Just go into action! :D

Learning Chinese is more convenient for you to travel to China without straining yourself by using translators. Moreover, China is not the only country where people speak in Chinese. It means you can travel to other countries as well just use Chinese instead learning new languages.
Besides, learning Chinese will be beneficial for you to learn about China by watching China daily news. You can have a better understanding about the convenient life in China, the kindness of Chinese and the development of Chinese technology than of the dirty environment, the so-called world factory and despotic government reported by the western media.
Nowadays, globalization is a historical stream and many countries in the world are relevant to it. Learning Chinese is an opportunity to get familiar with Chinese economic markets and gain more job opportunities. Under the circumstances of economic globalization, you will be more competitive if you can have a grasp of the mostly spoken language—Chinese.
