The Aural System Learning Language Audiobook in English in youtube

I stumbled into this YouTube video, which basically has the audio book describing the Aural System.

I really enjoyed listening to the first 20 minutes of this audiobook and I realized that learning a language by listening and repeating the language is the way to go. I think this old book from the 19th century has inspired some of the polyglots I follow. I watch youtube videos of polyglots that I admired, describing their language learning techniques, and I find that some of their teachings have been written in this old book. I imagine that some polyglots have been inspired or have read the book.

In my opinion this old book gives sound advice.
(note, I edited this post to remove names of famous polyglots, I am a big fan of these guys).

For example, I have seen youtube videos of the Italian polyglot Luca Lampariello describing his learning language techniques to see that many of his teachings have been said in this old book. I imagine that Luca was inspired or has read the book.

There are a great many people out there saying variations on the same thing, so it’s a bit of a stretch to assume anyone read a particular book.

In fact, a lot of the justification for audio-only learning appeals to seeming common sense.

There can’t really be anything in that book that’s more valuable than the research-based texts if this century anyway.
