After an ironically long route to get "The Longest Journey" installed on my old iPad, I discovered the game was only available in English audio and text anyway. Zut alors! Never mind, I've since installed "Broken Age" successfully and look forward to starting a new adventure in German soon.

I've recently played Broken Sword 3 and 4 in German. I wholeheartedly recommend them both! Very good dubbing, precise subtitles, tons of everyday items being used in creative ways.

I read about a Spanish language learning game on Reddit today and downloaded the app to my wife's iPhone for under a dollar: Learn Spanish with Ruby Rei. The developer says the game has over 1,000 lines of recorded dialogue and that the gameplay is about 3-5 hours (edit: it took me just over 2 hours altogether to complete). I'd planned to study Hawaiian and New Zealand Sign Language this afternoon, but curiosity has now got the better of me and it looks like wanderlust will most likely prevail this weekend. :?

Steam is currently having a Lunar New Year sale, selling Witcher 3 Game of the Year edition for €15 while giving you an extra €5 off if you spend €30.

With people recommending Witcher to left and right, I did some research and found that the base game has 30 000 lines of dialog, containing over 450 000 words. The two included expansions add another 8000 (Hearts of Stone) and 14 000 (Blood and Wine) lines. The total should equal about eight novels or far more than 50 movies. No idea how correct that is.

I'm only three hours in but it seems like a great game for language practice thanks to spoken dialogs with subtitles and long written descriptions for every quest and enemy.

Thanks (谢谢), ninuno! I've added all the suggestions in your thread to our master list of games on page 1:
  • Fatal Frame 5
  • Homescope
  • Pathologic (Мор утопия)
  • The Pillars of the Earth (Die Säulen der Erde)
  • Remember Me (Souvenez-vous de Moi)
Nice work! :)

There are some cheap bundles on Humble at the moment with Steam keys for dialogue-rich games, some of which have multiple language support:

Double-Fine games Includes 3 remastered Lucasarts classics with audio in multiple languages, and a few newer titles that seem to only have voice for English and occasionally German, as well as some titles that aren't dialogue-rich at all. (available for the next 8 days from time of writing)
Raw Fury games Fewer dialogue-rich titles in this one, and they're either text only or English-only audio with subtitles. (available for the next 6 days from time of writing)

Regardless, both bundles are very cheap -- cheaper than a single game in fact -- so if you find that one of the adventures in a bundle is in a language you're learning, it's probably worth it.

On your list you have Mafia which is a great game. However, you don't have mafia 2, and I think that may be worth listing also, at least the steam version, because it has full voiced audio & subtitles in, English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Czech & Russian.
