E-Learnig vs. Online Learning

Postby mrrada » Thu Mar 21, 2019 10:56 am

Given that current trends in education are changing, technological tools give us more and better opportunities to learn languages. Have you ever tried any?
However, in several cases what is Online learning and E-Learning is confused. Both are approaches in which you can learn with the help of technology but they are very different from each other. Do you know the difference?

There doesn't seem to be a consensus on what the difference between e-learning and online learning, at least not in English. From e-Learning, online learning, and distance learning environments: Are they the same? (Moorea, Dickson-Deane, and Galyen 2011) (it's behind a paywall unfortunately):
As learning technology and its associated fields continue to evolve, practitioners and researchers have yet to agree on common definitions and terminologies (Lowenthal and Wilson, 2010, Volery and Lord, 2000).

How are you defining the terms?

Am I right in saying that the forum software automatically strips URLs out of posts by new members?

I suspect there was a link in the original message...

Not just you. That's what I was alluding to with the comment about links being stripped out of newbies' submissions... ;-)

It does, but even if he is a bot, he still pointed out something interesting  . In my mothertounge "e-learning" is often used when one is referring to making some of the exercise online, whereas "online learning" is more of a taking classes online.
