Re: I won't be going back to HTLAL
Rhian posted the other day saying nothing new to report IIRC so I imagine that's still probably the case.

Nothing as yet but tonight we happen to have been discussing a final date after which we can say fine we're moving on. I'll post once we've all agreed.

Re: I won't be going back to HTLAL
Take your time, folks. I for one am not in a hurry.
I must admit that the current situation is somewhat nice in that it's reduced the pressure on me to put down a log entry even though it's been over a month since I've last posted in it and do have a few things to report. I don't like too much the idea of having parallel logs and double-posting as Expugnator and Radioclare have done, and would rather keep a log in one place. The question is which forum will hold the log.
Once we figure out more about the boards, I'll make a decision. I'm on the fence still. Inertia and losing (in a certain way) the 10+ years of goodwill (4000+ votes and posts) do play a role in preventing me from moving here wholeheartedly. I'm sure that my posting style here won't change much and I wouldn't expect myself to be as helpful/detailed in posts here (especially about Uralic or Slavonic languages) as I was in my first 7 or so years on the old forum. I'm just not as enthusiastic about retyping stuff that I've expounded at length before when I can just put links to an old but relevant post instead (assuming that the old forum continues to exist).
However I do like this forum for its promise and features. It seems to be here at the right time unlike Julie's HTLAL emergency forum which served its purpose but we didn't have a sufficiently upset userbase to keep it going or languagelearners which seemed to be created out of spite after some members were banned. I didn't feel right posting there much because I couldn't identify with the latent bitterness that was part of that forum's raison d'être.

Haste makes waste, as far as I remember. Take it easy.
It doesn't matter for me personally, because I already seem to have posted all my questions and got all the answers I was going to get. So for me at least the time is nigh, high time to move on soon.
But I wish you all good luck.
Edit
The forum is nice and the people are friendly.
I wonder how many active members there are at the old forum.
Edit1
But it's too quiet, anyway. No politics. No religion (I agree, I'm an atheist.)

Discussing atheism also counts as religion imo.

Re: I won't be going back to HTLAL
We are sending a second inquiry letter this week. Then we will wait a while for a response, or lack of response. I don't like being on two forums either, even though I like both. It's all still to be determined.

And "a while" means how long? Is there a date when the "lack of a response" is the answer? One week? Two weeks? Longer?

Re: I won't be going back to HTLAL
Well it looks like it will be two weeks from the date the letter is sent.

Re: I won't be going back to HTLAL
Which seems reasonable. A month is way too long but a couple of days is on the short side.
