Admitting that anything I say today could be overturned later, I'm good for either of those days. As for me and my diet, I prefer a place where I can get meat. ;)

Ani, what'll you be doing in town and how long you here?

Okay, I'm going to arbitrarily pick...

(drum roll)

...November 17th, for late afternoon or dinner? (I just picked a day, so people would voice an opinion one way or the other). ;) If schedules allow, we can meet the next day as well, or earlier on the 17th.

For restaurants, these two look the most probable: I'm learning toward the first one, because it specifically has a vegetarian section (don't worry, both places serve *meat*!)

Both look like somewhat Chinese inspired with a generous amount of creative license...Which is fine, if they have tasty food. ;)

Yeah afternoon of 17th is best for me so let's do that.

Chinese is virtually impossible for me  not that we need to decide on a place just because of me..

Before we pick somewhere to eat though, we should really think about where we can hang out before or after eating. Comfortable book store? Public library? Do you have any ideas for that?

There's the Boston Public Library, a standard Barnes and Noble with adjunct Starbucks, and also some spacious coffee houses.

Okay, I will look for other restaurant options: Ani, if you could do me a favor, could you take a look at those menus and see if there is something you can eat? Both places ranked high for avoiding allergens and cross-contamination. In the mean time, I will look at other options.

Edit: This is an Italian place, Erbaluche, that looks promising: according Yelp, the prices are in the 15-25$ range, too.

It's also closing this year... :? Our last chance!

I must give lichtrausch a hard time, because there needs to be photos of the BPL's strongest point: their books in foreign languages.

Saturday just became better than Sunday for me, as our DD will be competing in the MA State high school swim championships on Sunday. Still don't know if I'll have a kitchen pass, but will give it one helluva try. Don't want to miss out meeting you lot!

Hurray! Saturday it is then. :D

I'm thinking Italian might be friendlier all around, so I sent this email to Erbaluce:

Hello there,

After reading excellent reviews online about Erbaluce, I wanted to see your menu online: but then I learned that the menu changes each night. I am planning for a small party (5-7 people), for November 17th, and I was wondering if you could accommodate for these requests:

1. something salad-based for a person with multiple allergies
2. vegetarian for one person
3. red meat for another person
and some people that don't have dietary restrictions.

Thank you for your time,

Xenops
