Call me a wimp, but I've been in the tropics too long to go to Quebec in late autumn/early winter weather. Plenty of opportunity to practice languages in South Florida- Spanish, Haitian Creole, Portuguese, French. If enough people commit, I could come up for a weekend.

I’d also be in for Miami. Love that city.

I'll be in East/South Florida from October 9 - roughly Nov 15, at which point I'll be in NJ from ~15th until the weekend after Thanksgiving. Then I go back to FL until Christmas.

Do we want to try for Montreal beforeThanksgiving? Do we want to meet in Boston this time? How about a pool party in Florida? :)

Boston is the most likely for me, with Montreal as a second, not-as-likely. I won't be able to make it Florida, I think. But I do not see this preventing us from having two get-togethers: some people can go to the Florida one, and some to the Boston one, or both. ;)

It was making me twitch but I didn't want to propose a new thread and loose people along the way :)

Thanks, Xenops for updating us :)

So so far it looks like we have at least 3 for Miami, and potentially sizeable northern contingent for which Boston is taking the lead. Good stuff :)

But there's no sense crying over every mistake. You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.

I'm game for either Montreal or Boston, as several people have proposed. Sadly, Floria is out of reach for me at the moment.

What is the weekend people are planning? I’m goijg back to Texas Thanksgiving week to see family since I have some time off. Outside of that I may be able to do Boston/NJ/Philly/DC as long as I have the weekend off work. I live in NYC so that’s simplest. This year south Florida is out of reach but could be an option for me next year (work schedule would allow me to plan ahead for a trip)

If I am understanding Ani's time frame, it would be between November 15-25?

For various reasons related to immigration it might not be a good time for me to leave Canada (though I can maybe look into a brief trip down to Boston). I'll be here in Montreal, of course, if there's anyone who wants to add that destination on.

Yup yup!

I think last time we did the Monday before Thanksgiving? Is that right? I'm game for that again, or Tuesday.

Week days are easier for me.. but it's possible there are some people with like.. actual jobs.. that expect them to show up there regularly.. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
