Re: Hank's Adventure in Spanish

I'm almost through a spell of frustration. Someone on the forum mentioned something about being C1 level and understanding about 80% of what people say. Someone at C1 level "only" comprehends 80%? I don't think I'm anywhere near that level of comprehension and that's when the frustration s...

Re: Learn, teach, socialize or argue?

I have learned a great deal about how to learn and study languages on this forum but my main goal has always been socialization. It's all about hanging out with a group of friends that have a common interest.

Re: Spanish Group

What's the translation of the phrase "El que sabe, sabe"? At first I thought it was something like "Obviously" or "Well, duh!" but now I'm not so sure.

Re: Hank's Adventure in Spanish

Are you continuing to read La Reina del Sur ? I'm trying to decide which Spanish-language book to read and that's one of the ones on my shelf. I'm not too enthused about the subject matter but it seems to be pretty popular. Do you find it interesting/enjoyable to read? Yes. I'm still reading La rei...

Re: Best Book Only Read in L2

For me it was the Apocalipsis Z series by Manel Loureiro. It's pretty much The Walking Dead in Spain. I think I'm the only person on the forum that liked it, though.

Re: Hank's Adventure in Spanish

I finished Che Guevara . It took half the book for me to get used to the writing style but after that it went pretty smoothly. The author was a reporter that covered Che's death back in the sixties. I'm pretty sure he's Bolivian. He's obviously a big fan because the book wasn't very impartial. The t...

Re: Hank's Adventure in Spanish

It has been a while, but I just want to let everyone know I'm still here. I check the forum every day and still appreciate all the posts and the knowledge that I receive here. I had the flu for 3 weeks, so I didn't get quite as much study done as usual during that time period. I have never had the f...

Re: Hank's Adventure in Spanish

Real...
