Re: Learning when not learning.

I just found a link to a report called Spacing effects in learning . From the abstract: "In a study aimed at characterizing spacing effects over significant durations, more than 1,350 individuals were taught a set of facts and--after a gap of up to 3.5 months--given a review. A final test was a...

Have you seen these charts?

Re: Watch show, then subs2srs/substudy? Or vice versa?

Re: Jeff's language log

In two weeks I hope to have a deck based on useful phrases with superhero vocabulary. Duolingo - finally a level up in Italian and Portuguese! CS : I've started ...

Re: Five Golden Trees

I agree about completing the whole tree first. I started three languages from scratch nearly a year ago, and never repeated anything until I had finished them all (which I did a little more than six-seven weeks later).

Are there instructions for Linux/(Ubuntu?) as well? (I have Ubuntu on a machine which I plan to use for this Anki/DVD project)

Re: Countries with the Best Foreign Language Education

My apologies, I shouldn't have generalized. It was a note based on my experience with a mix of czech and french libraries of the municipal type (not specialized in languages, not university libraries). For what it's worth, the university next door doesn't specialize in languages - most language-rel...
