Re: Sang language assimilation

I would like to hear zemmonkey's and other people's opinion and experience. I really enjoy my language cards because I chose songs that I wanted to learn and were fun. However, as language learning tools, I'm a little disappointed for a few reasons. Some of the songs I chose were poor choices as th...

Re: SRS MP3 software

Good day everyone, I apologize if this has been asked but I'm having no luck finding this question in old posts. Question: Is there a program out there that would allow a learner to input mp3 files, which would build an SRS mp3?? For example, If I were to cut out all TL sentences from Assimil lesso...

Re: Two languages to C1 concurrent or sequential?

You know, go comfortably into the the dark forest, the house is just around the corner and you can always back out. Hit one language hard for a week, then two, then three - do you suddenly feel that this is getting results? Do you still feel you haven't wandered away too far from the other language?...

Re: Spanish, English, and French which has more variation?

English definitely has the most variation in accents if you account for towns and cities but Spanish probably has the most variation in accents in terms of solely countries and of course vocabulary. It's sort of bizarre as to how English doesn't have much more vocab differences as one may think whi...

Re: The U.S.: West Coast versus East Coast

I just want to add that NYC is safer than I think a lot of people who haven't lived there within the last 10 or 15 years think it is. While I personally don't really want to live there again I would chose it over White Plains any day. I know/have known a number of young women who live/have lived th...

Re: Why do people lie about level ?

"For want of a ruler, any string will do."

Certificates and levels are a pretty artificial way of measuring fluidity and competency.
They allow for some comparison but does it matter that much?

Re: The U.S.: West Coast versus East Coast

Too limiting a list - For example, there are many places near Boston that probably fit too - within 30/45 min commute. Med-lab wages will be higher in larger cities. Plus opportunities in hub cities to work in different hospitals are perhaps higher. Remember that in any large city (Boston/NYC) or u...

I'm sorry to hear you are dropping Hebrew. Maybe you'll come back to it later.

Portuguese is my on again, off again love. I'm doing a blitz for a while to see if I can activate it again. Sleeping pretty profoundly for the moment.
