Re: Considerations on using dubbed material and the McGurk Effect

It didn't work for me using that video. This one did though: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWGeUztTkRA Ahh yes that one is much better! Re: New auxlang: Atlas

Guys I wrote "failed" and specified that maybe it did not failed. I have a huge admiration for Esperanto, but it had many things that were far from perfect and it has not become the international language, that's all. That being said, it is by fair the most important conlang/auxlang and i...

Re: Peaches' German and French study log

I passed my B1 Zertifikat! :D I got an overall score of 276/300. 69/75 Mündliche, and 207/225 Schriftliche. Including 45/45 on the Schriftlicher Ausdruck! (Where you have to write a small letter from a given prompt.) I was pretty sure I passed when I did the exam, but I'm pleasantly surprised with ...

Re: New auxlang: Atlas

Another story is for instance Esperanto, where only European languages are really taken into account. That is another story and possibly one of the reasons why it "failed" (this can be discussed, but it certainly did not succeed as an auxlang). Which was the scope of Esperanto - it was ne...

Re: New auxlang: Atlas

Nice improvement over the last effort - certainly found the example sentences more accessible. Glad to see you didn't give up. I would challenge the idea that prepositions must be to the point you have - having less words ma be also much easier to use. The pen is by the book. The book was (written)...

I know I used to lip read when I was a kid, or to be correct, watch peoples' mouths as they spoke. Somewhere along the lines I stopped doing it, perhaps as a teenager or even slightly before my teens. I think maybe it felt intrusive to pay attention to peoples' mouths, and I still don't do it now. ...
