Re: Frase desconocida

Gracias.

Re: Tracking spreadsheets?

Last year I read a comment by Cavesa here in the Language Forum... she stated somthing about how many hours it took her to reach C2 level in French and how you almost couldn't help but reach C2 after one to two Super Challenges... or words to that effect. I decided to start a spreadsheet to track my...

Spanish past particle construction

Hello fellow Spanish language learners.... I am having difficulty, at times, selecting the correct verb in the compound construction of ser + past participle and estar + past participle. The basic gramatical guide is that ser + pp indicates that an action was completed and estar + pp indicates the r...

Re: Who has an on-line L2 language partner?

I am very fortunate in that I have 2 language partners. One is a 50 year old software engineer from Santiago Chile. The other partner is a 14 year old student from the Canary Islands. They both speak English at an somewhat advanced level (B2/C1). I met both partners using the website The Mixer (http...

Mandarin first book advice

I would like some suggestions for graded readers for Mandarin. My granddaughter, age 13, started studying Mandarin in middle school last year. She is now in her second year of Mandarin. She is at a basic level(probably around A1) but is very enthusiastic... loves her teacher... loves her classmates....

Re: Slowed-down speech - the root of listening comprehension failure?

I think the problem is lack of progression. Almost all made-for-learners stuff is really slow, so you have to jump suddenly from that to real material. This is a problem that I had with my language study. Listening was by far my weakest ability. I could understand Spanish at the “learner” speech le...
