As suggested, I'm starting the book club thread for our next nordic book, Englar alheimsins by Einar Már Guðmundsson. Written in Icelandic, it has been translated into Norwegian, Danish, Finnish and Faroese, although Swedish is apparently a bit more tricky. (There's also an Icelandic film of the book.)
It's a short book, just over 220 pages in my edition, and has 11 chapters. So that we can have a pace that works for everyone, I suggest one chapter per week (though we may want to combine 10 and 11, as the last chapter is very short).
My only question is how soon we should start. Is there anyone who will have trouble getting a copy by the beginning of November? I'll probably put up discussion posts on Saturdays, so we could start with the first chapter on the 5th. If that's too soon, then we can push it back.

I'm happy to start at the beginning of November, and the pace seems fine.

My local library has it in Swedish, so I can join the club. The pace and start date suit me fine too.

I didn't manage to find it as a Norwegian ebook, so I probably won't join I'm still slow at reading in Norwegian (apart from my daily quota of 10 pages), so I would probably be left behind.

Corrections welcome for any language.

Great! Looking forward to it.

Excellent! Glad to know it's not impossible to find in Swedish, if difficult for some.

Fair enough. We're certainly not going to be moving at more than 10 pages per day (more like 20 per week...), but I understand you may have other priorities.

At that speed - if anyone can help me find a source for it in Swedish that can get it to the states (and won't break the bank!) I'm in, otherwise, I can't, cause I can't find the sucker.

Re: Nordic book club: Englar alheimsins
I bought it in Icelandic, hopefully it's not too difficult.
Does anybody know of an Icelandic pop-up dictionary for Kindle (monolingual or Scandinavian would be fine)?

Shouldn't be too bad! I hope you get on with it.
Unfortunately I haven't been able to find any decent Icelandic dictionaries for Kindle. It's a small language, what can I say.

Just a reminder to everyone that I'm going to put up the first discussion post this weekend! Looking forward to it.
(We can also discuss how people feel about the speed; if it's achingly slow we can kick up a notch to two chapters per week.)

Does anyone here have a way to buy Finnish books in the USA? I've had bad luck with Amazon.
