I'm also kinda late, but I'd like to join anyway. :D

LANGUAGE: Finnougric languages
CHALLENGE: FULL
CURRENT LEVEL: advanced (Finnish B2/C1, Hungarian B1/B2)
COMMENT: I want to watch movies and read books in Finnish and Hungarian, but doing the full challenge in both of them would perhaps be too much (at least in the case of Hungarian, I haven't yet read a single book in Hungarian). So I decided to split the challenge between the two languages by claiming that I do the whole language family. :D
I registered for Finnish and Hungarian separately on twitter, because I'd like to keep a track on how much I read/watched in each of them. I hope that's okay.

Hi all, I'd like to join your challenge, too. I've never taken part in any challenges, so maybe it's the missing key to getting better :)

LANGUAGE: Spanish
CHALLENGE: FULL
CURRENT LEVEL: B1

LANGUAGE: French
CHALLENGE: half
CURRENT LEVEL: A2/B1

LANGUAGE: Japanese
CHALLENGE: half
CURRENT LEVEL: A2

A bit late to the game, but count me in this year. I haven't completed the challenge in the first two rounds, but I'm hopeful and I will try to cover some ground this time around. I hope I'm not too late joining, though.

LANGUAGE: Japanese
CHALLENGE: Double
CURRENT LEVEL: Bordering on N2.
COMMENTS: My reading skills have deteriorated due to a serious lack of interaction with the written word. Hopefully the challenge will fix it. I also may need the JLPT, and while I hate tests, this will double as great reading practice for it.

EDIT: I'm doing a double challenge. At my level, I believe it's doable while also challenging.

Four months have gone by since the beginning of the challenge. Sixteen more to go.

That's right, folks, 20% only. So, all those wondering whether it's late... not really, it isn't. Join in.

As for me, I'm changing my goal for English, changing from a "full" (100 books and films) to a "triple" (300 books and films). It's a bit steep, but I reckon I have a shot at doing it.

For the time being, I'm keeping my other goals (for French and Italian). I'm seriously behind on both, but I guess there will be good stints. We'll see.

I'm editing my original post: that's the fourth on this thread.

Have fun!

I'm tentatively signing up for this - we'll see how it goes :)

LANGUAGE: German
CHALLENGE: Half
CURRENT LEVEL: ~B2
COMMENTS: The movie part of this is going to be pretty easy for me given how many documentaries I watch in German, it's the reading that'll be the real challenge. I have more than enough resources to find books that I would like (memoires, books on linguistics, sociology books, etc) and have a number of books in my bookshelf, I just need to read them.

LANGUAGE: Korean
CHALLENGE: Half
CURRENT LEVEL: A0

LANGUAGE: English
CHALLENGE: Half
CURRENT LEVEL: fluent (-ish)

COMMENTS: I have discovered this forum just now and came across this challenge and I'm thrilled! I might be shooting for the stars here considering I'm just starting Korean (by myself for now, in class in a month -- I know this challenge was originally intended for intermediates but I want to give it a shot), I don't read that much and I'm starting my 3rd year at uni but oh well, I can't help myself :D The fillms will be incredibly easy for me in both cases since I think I already watch enough TV in both languages unknowingly so the books will be the real challenge for me. Well, late good luck to everyone, I hope everybody not only reaches their goals but exceeds them! :)

Hi Rick,

I'll get to Mongolian one of these days. I'm also working on Esperanto, Manx, and Tibetan, but 100 movies and books of each are hard to come by. Maybe they will have dubbed Star Wars into Mongolian by the time I start studying!

Good to hear from you!
