If you write it with the hashtag, it will create an unnecessary tag :) It's processed WITHOUT the # too. "I watched 90 min of #football yesterday" :)

The bot is in the CET/CEST time zone.

Thanks. I used the hashtag and it worked fine, but I put it last. It might have been confused it I'd put it toward the beginning. I don't really understand why the bot messed up the date though if it's in the same time zone as me. It was only the one time, when I tweeted a little earlier in the morning than usual, that it messed up the date. That's why I thought it might be in a different time zone.

I see, that's good to know :) afaiu it was intended to be used without the hashtag, but people started using it like that so Sprachprofi changed the settings to prevent unnecessary tags.
I don't think the order is supposed to matter.

* TV-watching / poetry / food topics / conversation island creation (and all interested participants to use a common #tag for easy comparison)
* language X / language family Y / learn new script Z (to help wanderlusters decide on a language)
* A0 complete beginners' team / Assimil team / hare team / tortoise team (for more meaningful comparisons; for moral support)
* etc

For the A0 / Assimil etc teams, I mean you can ask on this thread if anyone else is in the same situation as you. I think someone (CarlyD?) complained recently that they were a complete beginner in their chosen language and therefore their scores were not exactly comparable with others', and the Challenge not as exciting as it could've been.

I registered with French. I've been wasting too much time on FB lately, the 6wc is a great reminder how those odd minutes add up at the end of the day.

A0 and Assimil apply to me both! I didn't register myself as such with any tags via the Twitter bot. But if those in the same boat are here, well... me too.

I personally don't expect leaps and bounds in my ability out of this challenge, especially when I consider that I won't even have reached the active phase of Assimil by the end of the six weeks. But I feel that the public accountability will help me develop the momentum for a self-sustaining habit in Norwegian. I am giving substantial amounts of time and energy at present to three other languages, but I'm not enough of a beginner in any of them to feel that I should do a 6WC for them.

tl;dr, we'll see what it looks like in mid-June....

As it's probably my last chance to do this with Hawaiian, you can count me in too.

I have just registered with Greek. I was a complete beginner 2 weeks ago. I'm using:

* Hippocrene Beginner's Greek
* Routledge Greek: An Essential Grammar of the Modern Language

as main textbooks, and:

* Teach Yourself Beginner's Greek
* Book2 / 50languages app
* Tatoeba sentences

for variety.

Who else is also beginning a Cat IV language?

I just changed my target language to Japanese. My great nephew is about to move to Japan for a year and I can't let him be better than me.

That's actually a pretty good motivator for most things :D
