That would be your current level in the language(s) that you'll do the challenge.

It's a challenge where you try to read 100 books (defined as being 50 pages) and watch 100 films (defined as being 90 minutes) within about a year and a half span. You can also do a half challenge where you only do half that, or a double challenge where you do it with two languages. to sign up you have to post here using the form in the first post, as well as register with the bot in Twitter; the Twitter bot is used to keep updates on what you've done.

So I have create a Twitter account? What is meant by current level?

You don't have to have a twitter account, you can track your own progress and report it here in this thread. However the twitter bot will make tracking easier and so people prefer it. You can read the instructions on the bot itself. http://sc2016-17.language-learners.org/

Actually a 1/2 challenge is 50 books & 50 films
a full challenge is 100 books & 100 films
a double challenge is 200 books and 200 films.

You can register for as many languages as you like (except your native language) and for either 1/2, full, or double in each language.

Thank you for the more detailed explanation.
The instructions in the link say that I have to create an account. I am not sure I want to create yet another social media account.

Some people use twitter just for the bots (there are other challenges too, like the 6 week challenge and tadoku). See this thread.
When the bot has followed you, you can switch your account to private.

@rdearman it's allowed to register with your native language, though this was supposed to be reserved to those who genuinely feel their L1 is deteriorating, especially if they live abroad  It was meant to be mostly about reading texts that natives universally consider difficult (unless it's your secondary native language, one you didn't get educated in).

I stand corrected.

LANGUAGE: German
CHALLENGE: Half
CURRENT LEVEL: B2 (approaching C1 for reading)

LANGUAGE: Romance Family
CHALLENGE: Full
CURRENT LEVEL: B1 (Italian and Spanish—B2 for reading in Spanish), A1 (French)
COMMENTS: I think the option of doing language families was a nice addition from the last two Super Challenges.

I actually signed up on the Twitter bot around the time that the challenge began, but then got distracted and largely forgot about it. I never got around to registering officially here (or even moving from HTLAL and signing up on this forum before today), but with the New Year I figured it was time to get rolling on this challenge. With a year left, I’m sure I can still get a lot done and am looking forward to (hopefully) taking it seriously and making progress.
