Just changing a theme/prompt and asking members to write about it in any of the CJK languages. I don't normally do challenges that say "study this much of this, that much of that for x time" because I already have a routine I stick to, but output challenges and even just member interaction in the target language would be great...

...which leads to a follow-up: who would be fine with me dropping by the log and writing in Mandarin?

I plan to write my entries about Mandarin IN Mandarin so I can get extra practice, for example.

I'd be on board with all of that. I really need to work on output for Mandarin...

Like how druckfehler did TAC 2013? I'm up for that. Monthly challenges would be easier than weekly ones xP Tho I do like weekly goals.
But our leaders away most of week sooo

This sounds like a good idea, especially after looking through the first post and reading some of the challenges they did.

Hi everybody!

I apologize for my absence! I just signed up on the general thread for the TAC and would like to take part in the team. Would you accept me ? :)
If yes, here's my log : http://forum.language-learners.org/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=1565

Anyway, thanks Aiya for taking over and launching the thread, putting everything in place, etc. I would have helped but I guess life took over for a bit.. Don't hesitate if you need any help!

I've just posted an update on what's been up and what are my goals for this year. I'll try to do more regular updates so that they get shorter and I can remember more stuff. Furthermore that'll help me be able to contribute more :)

I've caught up with this thread but not yet on anybody in the team. I'll do in the coming 2 weeks!

Hi all,

How's everyone doing with their studies? Expug, will revise the goals for the team. An output challenge seems great. Also, go ahead and post in Mandarin. I think we can all learn a thing or two by posting in the target languages, and maybe receiving checks/corrections. Monthly challenges and weekly goals are good ideas and I will implement them in the coming days/weeks. I really need to work on my output.

And Yuhakko, welcome back, and of course you've earned a spot on the team. You were the one who volunteered for team leader in the first place :)

So here's the situation, everybody. Aiya and I had agreed to coordinate leading the team, but it seems she's held up at the moment. I certainly hope everything is okay. I can't edit her posts, unless a moderator gives me privileges to do so, and I don't really want to do this until I hear back from her regarding this. Therefore, I'll post updates (updated members, challenges, resources, etc.) separately for now. Hopefully Aiya will be in touch soon, but if not, I'll see what I can do about that.

I hope you all let me know if you would all be okay with things running that way. I haven't been receiving any feedback from anyone if they're okay with me carrying on Aiya's role until I hear back, or until something changes. I don't mind at all leading the team, but I'm not sure how to move forward since I haven't heard back from Aiya or anyone here; the last thing I want to be is imposing. If you would all prefer someone else, I'm open to any suggestions.

And please do post here and let me know how you're all doing!

I have no problem with you leading the team! In fact, I think it's a good idea, judging from how long you've been a member of the original forum, it's safe to say that you will be sticking around for a while longer so we can rely on you to be Here for the rest of the year and not disappear (unless life happens of course).

And for my own update; my studies are going well. I've been easing myself back into it after a period of no motivation and now I'm motivated as ever since I got accepted into the exchange program to Japan. After looking through the exchange university's Japanese course, it's safe to say that I should meet my goal of n3 by the end of the year, and then n2 the year after!
I hope everyone else's studies are going well!

TAC ebbs and flows. You need to be patient and keep learning anyway :-)

Maybe we should just bring up a topic to talk about? We could for example talk about our biggest accomplishment in January. Mine was that it was the first time that I read over a 1000 book pages in Japanese in one month.
